Weingut Joseph Biffar Pfalz
Weingut Josef Biffar is situated in eastern Deidesheim, along the Upper Rhine Valley. The estate, currently run by Lilli Biffar-Hirschbil, has been in the same family since 1723.
Josef Biffar’s vineyards total 12 hectares and include some of the best wine growing sites in the Pfalz–Middelhardt wine zone. The vines are planted on steep south and south-east facing slopes, with soil compositions that include weathered sand-stone, sandy loam and marl partly combined with granite, basalt or lime. This diverse terroir is ideal for growing the winery’s main grape, Riesling.
Josef Biffar wines are on the rich side with an incredible mineral complexity, specific in fruit and soil flavours that highlight the characteristics and variety of the terroir.
