Venica & Venica
Venica & Venica is a family-owned Estate in the Dolegna district of Collio, in the Friuli region of north-eastern Italy.
The granular and fine soil here is ideal for wine making as is the climate. Wedged between the sea and the mountains, the east west facing vines are protected from cold north winds by the Julian pre alps, while benefiting from the warm sea breezes of the Adriatic, only 20kms away.
Since the 1970’s, there has been much replanting and new planting of vineyards with an emphasis on upgrading quality. The estate has also invested heavily in state-of-the-art equipment for the winery, such as airbag presses, stainless steel temperature-controlled vats and barriques for aging the reds. The resulting wines are excellent.
In their 30 hectares, Venica and Venica produce 230,000 bottles a year.
